This is the MVP for a global micropayments network to be launched initially in Europe. pingNpay is a payments network designed to make paying for small items both viable and easy to use, for little things online and in person, including being designed to serve web3.0 and metaverse commerce. Specifically designed for the next evolution of the internet, pingNpay makes it easier and cheaper to buy and sell online services both now and in the future. The video case study summarizes the process of creating the mobile payment MVP – and is perfect if you’re pushed for time.As part of this project, we designed wallet interfaces (mobile and web browsers), a web application (app) for the administrator’s dashboard, and a promotional website for a wide range of pingNpay stakeholders including users, wallet providers, regulators and investors. Below we describe the brief, challenges and workflow of creating a mobile payments interface.

Goals&Challenges

To ensure that the application is suitable for mass use, we needed to anticipate and design for users’ needs from the beginning, these included:
Highlight the functionality used most often on the home screen
Work within a payment limit of ~$20, which is the maximum transaction value
Ensure the app is visually appealing without losing its simplicity and functionality
Develop a smooth flow for requests for payment and refunds, so users can execute transactions without unnecessary clicks and redundant notifications from the system.

Solutions &
Result

Through rapid prototyping, regular concept testing and close client engagement we managed to design the MVP Mobile wallet in around five working weeks. During this time, we prepared eight flows, and a total of 180 screens. For the MVP, we worked out the main functionality that users will use first and foremost in detail. And, of course, we considered user behaviour in all possible scenarios. We’re confident that this MVP has a huge chance of success among the users and already have plans for further development of the project. We believe in the products we create and go the extra mile to give our partners the best result.

to make a cool statement in order
to be successful among users

Work Process

Research

Before diving into the design process, comprehensive research was conducted to lay a strong foundation for our mobile application. Our research phase was a crucial precursor to the subsequent blocks, enabling us to make informed decisions, align our efforts with client objectives, and create a mobile application that truly caters to user needs and preferences.

Navigation Architecture

Based on the data from our clients and the results obtained during the research, we started to create a navigation architecture of the application. This helped us organize the information and have a preliminary idea of the future application, as well as the scope of work.

Wireframes creation

Based on the navigation map, we made some initial wireframes for the functionality of the top priority. We analyzed user behavior, compiled a list of features that were required, and displayed them on the home screen.

Mobile app UI concepts

Based on the data collected during the UI preferences study, we prepared a presentation with the concepts that best fit the requirements.

UI design

After negotiation with the product owners, we have defined one that best demonstrated the idea and emphasized the important functionality of the app

Solutions we’ve implemented

The former version of the platform was quite difficult to grasp. Poorly placed accents stood in the way of easily making out key features, wasting many users’ time.
The whole navigation across system modules was quite cumbersome, which is why we decided to fully redesign it and implement a new take on the navigation

UX-boosting interactive widgets

The essential part of smooth system-wide user interactions is a set of descriptive widgets. We paid a lot of attention to these underlying elements, making them utterly accessible and simple to use so that users can analyze the information they display and make informed decisions faster.

Wallet provider dashboard

This is a combination of a ledger to maintain user balances, user management and wallet provider administration, compliance and regulatory controls.

Chrome extension

We have developed a browser extension that gives users access to the same functionality as the mobile app. In this way we enable our users to accomplish their
tasks even  in the browser.

Even at the stage of getting to know the client, we learned that the application has a priority for the younger generation.
Home screen
The home page was created after testing the wireframes. To make a decision, we made 3 variants of the home page, worked out additional pages for the prototype, and sent it to a group of users for testing. After the feedback was received, we determined the functionality of higher priority and importance.

Quick onboarding

On the app side, it's important to emphasize these features at the very beginning, so we've thought of interesting onboarding and tips on some pages of the app for the user experience.

Transactions history

To keep track of finances, we have thought of all the details on transaction history pages. User can filter transactions, find payments for a certain period of time.

Scan to make a payment

This allows you to easily pay for a product or service. Using QR code for payment, we don’t need to enter any data. All we need is to scan and confirm the payment.

Show your QR code
To get paid, it is enough just to show your QR code. You will never make a mistake when entering the data and the process of receiving funds will be as convenient as possible.

See what their users say
While the app hasn't been released yet, stakeholders have praised its clean design and good quality. Equal has proven to be a great customer advocate as they proactively challenge the client’s approach. They’ve also met deadlines and are flexible in accommodating changes to the project scope.
